Opposition united to dislodge govt: Bilawal Bhutto

Staff Writer

Lahore: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said this week that the opposition was united and will do everything constitutionally and legally possible to dislodge Imran Khan as the Prime Minister.

Speaking to journalists after attending a lunch hosted by the opposition leader in the National Assembly, Shahbaz Sharif in honour of the former President Asif Ali Zardari and the Chairman PPP, he said both parties shared their plans to dislodge the federal government.

“The PML-N is going to consult on our suggestions very soon. The government has made the lives of the people hell through historic poverty, inflation and unemployment,” he said.

Regarding the Kashmir issue, Chairman PPP said that the government has failed to form consensus on the Kashmir cause.

He expressed his concerns over the increasing incidents of terror in the country, especially Balochistan. The government’s incapacity to deal with terrorism is very apparent, he maintained.

He said that it is natural that the government will be threatened with the unity in the opposition parties. He appreciated Shahbaz Sharif’s efforts to keep the opposition’s unity intact in the National Assembly.

Bilawal said that the government could be dislodged by bringing a no-confidence motion. The PPP is clear on the no-confidence and the PML-N is also trying to make a consensus on this issue. It is the demand of the people and in the interest of the nation that Imran Khan is sent home.

Responding to questions, he said that the PML-N has “welcomed our long march and the PPP has done the same on their long march. The more the coordination between the two parties, the better and we are united against Imran Khan.”
