Italy shines brightly at PFOWA charity bazaar thanks to Albana Ferrarese and Sepideh Neccia
ISLAMABAD: Italy’s stall at the annual charity bazaar organsied by the Pakistan Foreign Office Women’s Association (PFOWA) outshined the friendly competitors at the event.
Sepideh Neccia, the spouse of the Italy’s Deputy Ambassador Robberto Neccia told Covert that the stall of Italy organised by herself and Albana Ferrarese – the spouse of Italy’s Ambassador Andreas Ferrarese – was one of the most crowded stalls in the PFOWA charity Bazaar 2021.
“Everyone appreciated the simple but delicious Italian food. You could find pizza, Lasagna and Italian Angela coffee at the stall,” she elaborated.
Speaking further, the excited lady said: “Two cooks were cooking two kind of pasta at the spot. Even Ambassador Andreas Ferrarese was cooking pasta at the stall. There was a lot of work but satisfying achievement thanks to the team of volunteers of embassy.”
The PFOWA had organized its annual charity bazaar in Islamabad this week offering diplomats a venue to raise donations for underprivileged members of the society.
The bazaar was inaugurated by First Lady Samina Alvi which was held in the lawns of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), where diplomats’ families put up stalls to showcase their respective national and cultural diversity.
The MoFA’s signature event was intended to raise funds for its low-income employees’ families in the fields of education, health, and social welfare.
Stalls were set up by Embassies from a number of countries, including China, Turkey, Maldives, Belgium, Netherlands, Thailand, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the European Union, and many more, as well as by educational institutions and private firms.
Cultural performances by children and artists from other nations were also featured during the event. PFOWA, which was founded in 1947 on the recommendation of Begum Raana Liaquat Ali Khan by its first patron Shaista Ikramullah, is effectively carrying on the philanthropic heritage.
