Gwadar: Developing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) hub, Gwadar city, is Balochistan provincial government’s top priority, Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan said this week.
In a statement, after arriving in the port city, CM remarked that Gwadar’s development was the key to move forward.
Jam Kamal Khan later visited Sunset Park along with famous racers of the Gwadar Off-road Jeep Rally.
Appreciating the unique park, he stated that the provincial government was working to fully exploit the tourism potential of the province.
During his Gwadar tour, Jam Kamal Khan was accompanied by the provincial minister for industries Haji Muhammad Khan Tur Utmankhel.
CM was received on the tarmac by Commissioner Makran Shah Irfan Ghirshen and other senior officials.
Meanwhile, the Gwadar Eastbay Expressway, the most important mega connectivity and road infrastructure project worth the US $168 million is likely to be completed this month.
The completion of the Gwadar Eastbay Expressway being constructed under CPEC would trigger a major jump in the development of the coastal city, the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) said.
The project was envisaged under the Early Harvest Scheme during the first phase of CPEC.
The project is part of a wider US $1.1 billion development package for the city and Port of Gwadar.
Economic and commerce experts believe that Gwadar Eastbay Expressway would prove to be a major step in utilizing the full potential of Gwadar port for trade, especially the way it would help connect Gwadar Port with Gwadar Free Trade Zone.
