Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan this week said hat no force can separate the Iron Brothers, Pakistan and China, and all conspiracies against the ‘iron-clad friendship’ will fail.
In a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong, the PM expressed the government’s resolve to timely complete the projects under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

“No hostile force would be allowed to undermine the ‘iron-clad friendship’ between the two countries,” said PM Khan, adding CPEC was a transformational project, for which he stressed that both sides needed close collaboration to make it a high-quality demonstration project of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). During the meeting, views were exchanged on China-Pakistan bilateral relations, CPEC, vaccines and mutual cooperation in other sectors.

The Chinese ambassador conveyed the cordial greetings from President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang. He also conveyed felicitations on Pakistan’s Independence Day.
The prime minister warmly reciprocated the greetings of the Chinese leadership and also appreciated China’s consistent support for Pakistan in its fight against COVID-19.

China-Pakistan cooperation in trade, commerce and investment, people-to-people contacts, and mining and natural resources was also discussed. In the context of the regional situation, the prime minister reiterated that there was no military solution to the conflict in Afghanistan. He expressed Pakistan’s resolve to steadfastly support efforts for a negotiated political settlement.
The meeting came a day after, Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the investigators had exposed the perpetrators of the July 14 Dasu bus attack that resulted in the death of nine Chinese nationals and four Pakistanis.

FM Qureshi said Afghanistan’s soil was used for this incident. “We are clearly looking at the traces of its planning and executing meeting with the nexus of NDS (Afghanistan’s intelligence agency) and RAW (Indian intelligence agency),” he added.
The FM further said: “We think there are elements which cannot digest Chinese investment in Pakistan as well as growing economic cooperation.”
In the terrorist attack, nine Chinese and three Pakistani nationals lost their lives. The two sides have condemned this attack in the strongest possible terms. The FM said that the terrorists’ first target was Diamer Bhasha Dam but could not succeed, so opted to target the Dassu Dam project.

FM Qureshi was confident to say that the elements behind the terrorist attack would not succeed in achieving their designs as both China and Pakistan decided to face such cowardly attempts. He said the matter was also discussed during his visit to China, and the Chinese side looked satisfied with the probe.

He said Pakistan had shared the details of the probe with China and both sides were resolved that such incidents could not undermine their resolve rather they would emerge stronger.
